Celebrating 10 Years with Flavors from the Vault!

In celebration of 10 years of creating ice cream for our community, we are bringing back one flavor from the vault each month, this July through next June! We’ve been collecting flavor suggestions from you, our customers, our staff, and Adventure Club Members. It brings back so many memories hearing which of our flavors you are reminiscing about!
Since the inception of Wild Scoops, we have created over 350 flavors! Many of those have come through Adventure Club (you can see the full list here) while others have come about throughout the year. A few were inspired by our box of dreams which existed in the Downtown Scoop Shop on E St when it first opened.
To kick things off this month we are bringing back Chilkoot Trail Mix, which first debuted during Adventure Club in May 2021. It’s available in a limited run batch in both pints and scoops while supplies last, only at the Midtown Scoop Shop!
Chilkoot Trail Mix was inspired by the delicious snack that fuels many journeys under the midnight sun of Alaskan summers. The name is a reference to the Chilkoot Trail, the famous route from Dyea, Alaska to Lake Bennett, British Columbia. What started as a traditional Tlingit trade route became a much-used transportation route to Canada’s interior during the Klondike Gold Rush in the late 1800’s. Now, it’s primarily a recreational route, stretching 33 miles through some of the most beautiful scenery in Alaska and Canada. Hiking this renowned path attracts people from around the world due to the rich history and stunning views. It is considered a challenging hike, and certainly most of the trekkers today rely on their trail mix to get them through it!
Chilkoot Trail Mix brings together all the best parts of a classic mix. It starts with a creamy peanut butter base, gets packed chock-full of crunchy house-made toffee (featuring almonds, cashews, and pretzels), smeared with tantalizing raisin jam made with raisins and orange juice, and finished with fistfuls of everybody's favorite: mini M&Ms. This sweet and salty flavor is sure to bring back memories of camping and hiking adventures.
