It was only a matter of time before we started splashing alcohol into our ice cream. Some people are skeptical, but beer + ice cream = match made in heaven.
For our first boozy flavor, we looked to Midnight Sun Brewing Co, an excellent local brewery with a reputation of bold, unique flavors and collaborations. They recommended that we try out their Berserker, an imperial stout.
They describe it: "Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight."
We started with our standard, rich chocolate ice cream base and splashed in just enough Berserker to let you know it's there. Then we splashed in a smidgen more.
After churning, we folded in generous chunks of our homemade chewy brownies.
Yep, this one's a keeper!
